    The emergency.lu system is a global VSAT-based, communications platform that immediately fills the gap at the onset of large-scale disasters.

e/m-Health Tools

SATMED integrates high-quality e-health and m-health tools in a secure and reliable platform to connect different medical communities around the globe. The SATMED portal is implemented as a flexible toolbox which integrates new and innovative applications with tools which are recognised around the world in the e-health domain. SATMED provides remote access to a pool of integrated applications covering e-consulting, e-care, e-learning, e-surveillance, e-health administration and e-health financing, as well as videoconferencing.

In line with the SATMED vision, this broad set of offered applications is designed to meet the needs of all the different parties involved, such as health-related organisations and/or EU-based Non-Governmental Organisations (“NGOs”) and/or Governmental Organizations (“GOs”) who cooperate with the State of Luxembourg, as well as doctors, nurses and other health care providers working in various developing countries where SATMED is deployed.

Cloud Services

SATMED provides cloud services for very secure data storage, including data back-up and enabling the sharing of data between different users worldwide. As a result, users are not required to set-up their own data hosting and storage capacities at their local sites and can instead rely on the centralised safe data storage infrastructure provided by SATMED.  

The file-sharing functionality is integrated with the other SATMED applications, such as the consultancy tool that connects health professionals in developing countries with other experts, enabling seamless sharing of anonymised patients’ data and images and making a big difference in determining diagnoses and cures.

The SATMED data hosting and file sharing system implements the highest standards of data security and reliability. The SATMED data storage system is compliant with the European Regulations and Standards and is implemented as a centralised highly protected data centre in Luxembourg. Among other features, the storage of back-up data is completely encrypted and anonymised, ensuring that the operators and users cannot access the contained information.
